Mick Kinane & Sea the Stars

Is someone out there using an image you created? It’s a fear of many professional and even amateur photographers.
When I say “out there” I mean the web. Thanks to a company called TinEye it’s now possible to check & see if your images are being published on the Internet illegally.

Stock photographers will find TinEye a useful tool to see where their images are being used.
You can check 100 images a day free of charge with TinEye..
OK so that’s one aspect of TinEye, something even cooler is the ability to search for images on the net the same way people use Google to search for information. You can submit an image to TinEye to find out where it came from, how it is being used, if modified versions of the image exist, or to find higher resolution versions. TinEye is the first image search engine on the web to use image identification technology rather than keywords, metadata or watermarks!

Maybe it’s just a matter of time before TinEye is swallowed up by one of the big search names… Watch this space!
